    WHO IS HE: The Weeknd is a Canadian singer-songwriter who began his professional career in late 2010 by uploading several of his songs to YouTube. A buzz began and in the coming year he’d go on to release nine mix tapes including “House of Balloons,” “Thursday” and “Echoes of Silence.” In 2013 The Weeknd released his debut studio album “Kiss Land” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and included the singles “Live For” and “Kiss Land.” In September 2014 the singer released “Love Me Harder,” a duet with Ariana Grande which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Just two months later The Weeknd topped himself with the hit single “Earned It,” which reached No. 3 on the charts.

    WHO ARE THEY: Hailing from Flint, Mich., Grand Funk Railroad scored five platinum albums between 1969 and 1972. Although they never received much praise from the critics, the band became fan favorites thanks to heavy touring. In 1973 the band had their first big hit single with “We’re an American Band,” a song that became an instant rock classic. Other hits include “The Loco-Motion,” “Some Kind of Wonderful” and “Bad Time.”

    WHO IS HE: Dennis DeYoung is the former lead singer, songwriter, keyboardist and accordion player for Styx. The progressive rock band broke through to the mainstream in 1974 with its single “Lady,” which reached No. 6 on the charts. Throughout the rest of the decade, Styx released platinum album after platinum album, including “Crystal Ball,” “The Grand Illusion,” “Pieces of Eight” and “Cornerstone.” Some of the band’s biggest hit singles during this period were “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Fooling Yourself” and “Babe.” Styx kicked off the 1980s in style with the 1981 release “Paradise Theater,” which sold more than 3 million copies and became the biggest hit album of its career.

    Talk-show host Wendy Williams performed at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and our friendly neighborhood Mayor Don Guardian invited her to gain a new perspective on Atlantic City. So the two took a tram tour of the Boardwalk and the city, and he even dedicated a bench in her honor. It paid off as the celebrity talked about her great experience on her syndicated talk show, pointing out the nightlife and dining options rank among her favorites.

    WHO ARE THEY: Michael Che is a comedian, writer and actor who grew up in New York City and began a career as a stand-up in 2009. In 2013 he began writing for “Saturday Night Live” and in the spring of 2014 worked as a correspondent on “The Daily Show.” In September 2014 Che became an anchor on SNL’s Weekend Update alongside Colin Jost. In addition to television work, Che has appeared in films such as “Chinese Puzzle,” “Lyle” and “Top Five.”

    WHO IS HE: Russell Peters is a Canadian-born comedian who has performed all around the world and has been nominated for four Gemini Awards. He’s been featured at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Festival. In August 2006 Peters’ comedy special “Russell Peters: Outsourced” aired on Comedy Central. Since then he has had several other specials including “Red, White and Brown,” “The Green Card Tour: Live from the O2 Arena” and “Notorious.” In 2010 he released the autobiography “Call Me Russell.”

    WHO IS HE: Peter Lemongello became famous in January 1976 when he began a television ad campaign to promote his album “Love ’76.” Prior to the ad campaign, Lemongello was a virtual unknown but after it, he was selling out Madison Square Garden and Carnegie Hall and was front page news in all of the major newspapers. In 1989, after having no success landing an Atlantic City gig, Lemongello rented a billboard on the Expressway claiming that he was coming soon. Two months later the Showboat took over the billboard and booked him for a sold-out three-night engagement.

    WHO ARE THEY: The Philadelphia Soul is an arena football team that was established in 2004. They have made three appearances in the ArenaBowl, winning one in 2008. Jon Bon Jovi was one of the team’s original owners, but the team is currently owned in part by former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski. The Las Vegas Outlaws are a brand new arena football franchise owned by Motley Crue singer Vince Neil.
